On behalf of the children, staff and Governors, I would like to welcome you to St Michael's C of E First School website.
At our school emphasis is placed on an educational partnership between children, parents, Governors and staff.
As a school community a Christian ethos is maintained through close links with the Churches of Minehead. We have daily collective worship, one of which is led by Father Simon Robinson at St Andrews Church.
We firmly believe that every child should be treated, and respected, as an individual. This is why we offer a rich and broad curriculum that incorporates indoor and outdoor learning.
At St Michael's we offer an inclusive, rich, happy and stimulating environment for children to learn in. In our school we ensure children feel safe and secure so they can ASPIRE in everything they do. As a school community we achieve this by following our core values:
We have high aspirations for all and we pride ourselves on knowing the children as individuals and providing them with an engaging curriculum that allows them to fulfil their potential. We have high aspirations for all at St Michael's and our highly dedicated and loyal staff always go the extra mile to ensure that every child has the opportunity to participate fully in everything we have to offer.
On-site facilities include an outstanding Preschool, a Hall, two Playgrounds, Gardens, a Playing Field, Wild Garden and Pond and a heated indoor Swimming Pool.
We are part of a West Somerset Academies Trust and as a team we strive for excellence in learning. For further information about the West Somerset Academies Trust please click on the link at the bottom of the page.

At St. Michael's First School:
I have the right...
To be an individual
To feel safe
To be called by my name
To be treated with respect and kindness
To be able to learn
To be free to express my feelings and opinions
To be happy
This means I have...
To be kind and caring to everyone
To listen to the other point of view
To use kind words
To help anyone who needs help
To work to the best of my ability in all lessons
