Being smart shows we are ready to learn. Although wearing a school uniform in primary schools cannot be enforced, we strongly encourage it. The smartness of our children is often commented upon by visitors, and when we are out of school we are easily recognised.
To help develop children's sense of identity, we have a school uniform. This comprises a sweatshirt, cardigan or jumper in royal blue (the school's colour), a white blouse or polo shirt and grey/black skirt or trousers. Cotton dresses in blue/white stripe or check are acceptable.
Blue/black shorts, blue PE top and gym shoes are required for P.E. In cold weather, plain blue or black tracksuit bottoms.
Our school uniform is compulsory from Reception up to Yr4. Sweatshirts, cardigans, book bag and PE t-shirts with the school logo can be purchased from Price and Buckland. Pinafores, school dresses and trousers can also be purchased online at www.pbparentsonline.co.uk/stmichaelsfirst . Please make sure to mark all items of clothing with your child’s name.
Other items of uniform can be purchased from any high street store:
Children are not allowed to wear jewelry to school. Only stud earrings are permitted for health and safety reasons. Studs must be removed for PE and Swimming lessons.
A swimming costume, towel and swimming cap (for shoulder length hair) are required for swimming.
All clothing should be clearly named.
