SEND

At St Michael’s C of E First School we strive to meet the needs of every child, recognising that every child is unique and special. Within our varied and rich curriculum, every child is given opportunities and support, in a safe, caring and stimulating environment, which should facilitate their chance to reach the highest possible standards. We are a fully inclusive school and all staff are devoted to meeting the needs of all our children, striving to break down any barriers that are preventing children from achieving their potential. We aim to quickly identify children, who are making limited progress and provide targeted interventions and support to meet their needs. As a school, we recognise the importance of not only supporting children’s academic progress but also developing their behavioural, emotional and social skills to enable them to become confident, independent learners.

Our Special Educational Needs and Disability Co-ordinator (SENDCo) Mrs Karen Mills-Bown is a qualified teacher.  Mrs Mills-Bown can be found in the SEND room close to the school office.  Appointments can be made to see her by telephoning the school office on  01643 702759 or via the school office email address stmichaels@wsat.org.uk.
